Race Format
Qualifying will be on the night of the race, also known as live qualifying. Qualifying will be 3 laps, with the fastest lap being the time you are credited with. Ties are broken by whoever has the best TRT. If the TRT is the same, it will go to which driver is higher in points. If it is the first race of the season, the tiebreaker goes to the driver that finished higher in points the season before.
The heats are lined up by qualifying times, then the top 4 in each heat race are inverted. (If there are 2 heat races, the top 6 will be inverted.)
The top 6 guys that transfer through the heat into the A Main will be lined up by Qualifying time (so if you sandbag to start up front in the heat, you probably wont start up front for the A Main)
The two or four transfers from the B Main(s) will be lined up according to how they finished in the B Main to make up the final spots the feature.
In the event that there are any drivers who missed qualifying for the event, they will start behind the people who did qualify in the heats and/or C and B Mains.
Substitution rule
Each driver is allowed two subs per season. If you will be using a sub for a race please let us know beforehand so we can know who is to get the points. Also, whoever your sub driver is must be LOWER than you in the point standings unless it is the first race of the season.
Points format
Our points format has received a major overhaul starting with the Spring 2011 season. It is a dynamic points format that changes every race based on the number of cars that show-up. Therefore, it is impossible to post the full format without knowing how many cars will attend each race.
There will be a 2 point difference between finishing first and second, and every position after that will go down by one point.
For example, if 22 cars show up to the race, the winner will receive 23 points. Second will receive 21. 3rd- 20, 4th- 19, and so on, down to one single point.
This will make it so that to win a race with thirty cars is a lot better for your points then winning against a field of ten cars.
Race format
Here is how we will run the races, and the rules for competing
RULES
- Race clean. This means do not wreck someone purposefully, and if you get hit do not retaliate. We wil handle any problems if you get wrecked and we will get every side of the story as available.
- If you take someone out in the A, they will receive your points. You will still be scored with your finishing position, but you will swap points with the driver you hit if it's deemed bad enough, and if they finish behind you.
- If you take someone out in the heat or B Main, you may have to swap spots with them. This will be determined by the race officials.
- Do not cheat. Do not do anything that is not readily available to the racers you are competing against including track editing. Also, you may not hypershift or edit your setups in notepad if you want to race with us. If you are caught cheating, you could be banned permanently from racing in VLR events.
- Be courteous and nice to your fellow competitors.
- You must save your full replay after each race in case there is a complaint or protest against you. We will review replays. If you do not have your replay you may be penalized and stripped of a victory if you won the race.
FORMAT
Hot Laps:
We will run one eight lap hot lap before each qualifying session.
We will run two (2) three lap hot lap sessions prior to each heat race, B main and A main. This number will be adjusted if necessary.
Restart Rule:
There are 2 restarts within lap 1 for the heat races, C Mains, and B Mains. There are unlimited restarts for the A Main. If a car freezes we will restart from that lap. If a car freezes with less than three laps to go, the race will be called. If there were more than three laps remaining, the remaining laps will ran and the points will be lined up by reverse rank. If a car freezes within the first ten laps of the A Main, we will still restart from the lap the car froze but the restart will line up in rank instead of reverse rank.
Heat Races:
All heat races will be 12 laps.
There will generally be 2-4 heats.
If there are only two, the top 3 finishers will transfer to the A Main. Everyone not in the top 3 will be in a b main. The top 4 drivers from the B Main will transfer. If there are two b mains, the top 2 will transfer.
If there are 3 heats, the top 2 will transfer to the A Main. Everyone else will go to the B main(s). The top 4 drivers from the B Main will transfer. If there are two B Mains, the top 2 will transfer.
For 4 heats, the top 2 will transfer from the heats and 2 C Mains will be ran with winner only transferring to the B Main. Two drivers would transfer from the B Main in that situation.
SPOT GIVING
Spot giving will only be done for transfer spots to the A or B Main. No spot giving in the A Main. Penalties will be assessed for rough driving in the A Main.
Intentionally wrecking someone will result in a loss of ten points for the nights events. The next time it happens is a one week ban.
POINT DOCKING
Points may be docked if a driver accidentally spins another driver.
Spin a driver- Docked three points
If there is a pattern of spinning drivers on accident you will be given last place points in your heat/feature if you cause three accidents on one race night.
