It was a great night for Team VLR in the second week of the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series in their visit to the Limaland Motorsports Park bullring.
It was especially good for Canada's Alex Bergeron after taking the lead with twenty laps to go on a restart and never looking back for the biggest late model win of this career. After Howard Weaver won the season opener, VLR has now opened the series two for two on wins.
Huge congratulations to VLR's Howard Weaver on taking home the win in the first ever World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series race in iRacing!
Weaver bested 35 of the top sim racers in the world for the win and pocketed the weekly prize of $300 for the win. Weaver set fast time alongside teammate Garrett Niebruegge and went on to win his heat race and led every lap of the 50 lap feature to take the victory.
Wednesday May 9, 2018 (Knoxville Raceway) - Capping off a dominating season in the VLR UMP Modified Series, Bakersfield, CA driver Dylan Wilson ended with a bang, by winning both the feature event as well as the championship last night at Knoxville. The win was his fifth overall of the season and third at Knoxville.
For the second week in a row the A Main was set with points runner up Howard Weaver on the pole with point leader Wilson to his outside. What was shaping up to be a great final showdown between the two drivers who dominated the series quickly turned sour for Weaver.
Tuesday May 8, 2018 (Volusia Speedway Park) - Austin Carr brought home his second career VLR win tonight in a dominating Late Model season finale from Volusia. The local driver from Brandon, FL held off a late race charge from Tyler Hudson to win
Carr started in second and quickly jumped out to the lead over pole-sitter T.J. Carter and went on to lead every lap while seemingly getting faster as the track got slicker. The action behind Carr was as intense as ever though with five cars under a blanket battling hard for the second position.
