Boone Iowa: 18 cars made the drive to Boone Iowa for the WFO Mid Season pole challenge, with the winner of this race getting the pole for the season ending WFO 100 at WFO Thunderbird.
Heat 1 rolled out with Rain coming from the last row to get the win with Zombie getting the 2nd transfer spot.
Heat 2 would see F1yer winning a loaded het with Pit being the 2nd driver to make it through. Drivers like JJ, Stealth, and DK would have to run the B.
In Heat 3 Doit 5 would run a smooth line and come from his 6th starting spot to get the win. Sidebite would bring home 2nd and gain his ticket to the “A”.
The “Snicker’s” Dash would be 8 laps of great competition with Rain getting the win and DOIT 5 2nd; F1yer would get 3rd with Pit, Sidebite, and Zombie rounding out the field.
B #1 would be a great race with Blaze, Ice, and Stealth for the 14 laps. Contact on lap 14 would get Stealth loose and Blaze would come home with the win and Ice would take the final transfer spot.
In B #2 JJ would get out front with Wheel staying close and out of danger. They would finish 1-2 and make it to the 50 lap “A” Feature.
The “A” Main would roll off with Rain and DOIT 5 on the front row. Rain would get the jump on the field and on lap 4 Wheel would lose a tire and cause the 1stcaution of the night. On the restart F1yer would get a great jump and find his way to 2nd and look to run down Rain.
DOIT 5 would find Ice all over his tail on lap 7. Ice would try every line he could find to get around but on lap 16 Sidebite and JJ would join in the fun and DOIT 5 would be able to pull away leaving the best battle on the track for 4th.
JJ would eventually get the spot and pull away and on lap 36 he would catch DOIT 5 and get the 3rd spot. By lap 38 F1yer had pulled to within .3 of Rain for the lead but just couldn’t get any closer.
Blaze would get up to battle for the 5th spot at the end of the race. But in the end, it would be Rain leading keeping F1yer at bay. F1yer would get 2nd and JJ would motor home 3rd.
DOIT 5 would grab 4th and Ice would round out the top 5. Sidebite would finish just ahead of Blaze for 6th. Wheel would limp home 8th, Zombie 9th, and Pitcrew would round out the top 10.
After the race Rain was in victory lane with a stripper and a bottle of Jack. “Damn, it feels good to win again. This is such a tough series to get a win, I knew I had a beast under the hood tonight and as long as I didn’t screw it up I could walk out of here with a trophy.”
