ATTICA, OHIO- Finally! The Crates series headed north to Ohio for yet another weekend doubleheader with the VLR Gen 3 series. After 40 laps of fender banging action it was the Spartanburg, South Carolina driver VLR_McGee picking up his first ever win in the Crates. VLR_Faschek started the A Main from the pole with McGee second, followed by Dustin and VLR_Shock rounding out the second row of starters.

As the starter waved the green, it was McGee who got a good jump out of the gate on the high side as he and Faschek ran side by side for the first three laps, but Shock and Dustin were unable to make any time on them as they were deadlocked in a battle of their own for second.

McGee managed to clear Faschek by using the high line, as he was the only one running it at the time with his Crate Motor, and he quickly dipped back to the bottom once making the pass. After clearing Faschek, he began to pull away with the battle now raging for second place, as VLR_Faschek, VLR_Shock, and Dustin were all wanting the spot.

Shock made the move under Faschek and these two would end up battling for the next five laps with Shock doing a crossover move that got the fans on their feet, however Faschek quickly would do one of his own to retake second.

All this battling quickly allowed McGee to jump out to a one second advantage only about ten laps in, as Shock finally worked around the #4 of Faschek. Now it was Dustin who began peeking under Faschek to try and take second. There were battles all over the track, but even after clearing Faschek, Shock was still losing time to the #53 of McGee.

As the laps ticked down everything seemed to calm down except for the battle for fifth between joshow20 and VLR_Jsn! as these two seemed determined to swap positions every single lap.

Coming to the finish line, however, it was dtr2's most popular driver VLR_McGee holding off the field with ease in what was an exciting race for the fans and drivers alike. VLR_Shock crossed home in second two full seconds behind, with the surprise of the season Dustin helping out his points bid by taking third, followed by fellow Kentuckian VLR_Faschek in fourth.

Joshow20 was the winner of the Jsn/Joshow battle in the end as he took fifth, and Jsn 6th. Seventh place was taken by XCR Bullet, with eighth going to Doit 87. Ninth place went to 8 year old Wisconsin phenom DS5 as he made his A main debut at the Ohio facility. Tenth place went to WFO_SideBite after he blew a tire out very late in the race.

Next week the drivers head west a little ways to the famed Knoxville (Day) Raceway in Iowa to do battle. Track workers are sure they can give the fans great two and three wide racing in these cars as they have already begun work on getting the track in prime shape for the VLR double header coming up. Once again big congrats to McGee on dominating for the win!
