(2-22-15) Brownstown, Indiana - Team ICE and VLR headed to the great state of Indiana, to the great town of Brownstown, and to the great track of Brownstown Speedway. 17 trailers pulled into the speedway for the Ice Breaker 50. Weird huh. The name of the race being named after a team? Huh? With the weirdness of the name, the 17 cars that showed made some great racing. The race saw the return of VLR_21* tonight as well.
Heats started out normal with WFO_Ranger, ICE_M9, and XCR_RB! taking the heat victories. They all fought really "hard" for their wins. Good job to them. Tonight there was two B-Mains with the red-head, ICE_KG, taking the B-Main #1 with last place starter ICE_KK getting the last transfer spot and XCR_Orso taking B-Main #2 along with Atwood777 advancing as well. The dash was won by Domper "Showstopper" Momper.
With everything completed, it was time for the main event. ICE_M9 had the pole for tonight along side WFO_Ranger. With the recent victory in XCR, ICE_M9 was hungry for more tonight as he shot out to quick lead at the drop of the green flag. The first couple of laps were crazy as everyone was fighting for a spot to settle down in for the first half of the race. On lap 3, during all the commotion, the red-headed driver, KG, drove to the bottom in turn 3&4 making it four wide. Coming out of 4, he slid up and forced JFR_Duster, BLS_Jmac, and DeadBolt over the white line! What an idiot he must have felt like (I was). But that would be laughed over later as KG and Jmac discussed it over a drink. RB also had another rough day as he was bumped into and was turned into the infield.
After the dust settled, Momper and Ranger had pulled away. Not having to deal with anything, they had a 1.5 second lead. For third place it was Orso, KG, and Atwood. Just as Atwood was about to pass KG for 4th, he pulled an RB and nailed the tire coming out of turn 2. The same happened to Orso about 10 laps later as he was apparently "not paying attention". With that KG pulled into 3rd place. About another second or so back, ICE_KK had broken away from the pack in the back and sealed a 4th place spot.
In the closing laps, Ranger pulled along side Momper for 5 laps and raced side-by-side until Ranger got by him. Back in 5th place, there was a three car battle between RB, Jmac, and Duster. Jmac and RB got together and RB was forced into the infield. RB fought back up to Jmac and was supposedly going to get revenge but decided not to. Jmac gave up his spot in the end as he knew he was wrong, like always.
Ranger took the Ice Breaker 50 after a great race with Momper. Momper gets 2nd after winning both his heat and dash, but failing to win the feature. KG comes in 3rd place after being by himself for nearly the last 20 laps. KK finishes 4th after not starting his heat and starting last in the B-Main and A-Main. RB gets 5th after Jmac gave up his spot. Duster and DeadBolt finish 6th and 7th. Jmac gets 8th after giving his spot up. And the NEW tiremasters, Orso and Atwood, who did not finish, get 9th and 10th.
