The title says it all. Shock began this site for all that love to race DTR2. He is a keen racer and knows the game well. A tough competitor as you cnn tell in the race results on the Home page. Daunting task one would think, in attempting to knock him or others off the podium, right? True, but not impossible. There is a skill in winning, but with enough effort and support from all his fierce competitors who want a change in winners, we could all do it. Challenging ha? As we get older, the less skill we keep, as you need to be sharp to beat Shock or the other top racers. But McGee won a race once, so it's not that impossible!!!
Let me get to my point..... Signing up to the team means what? Downloads? Just to say you have a home? Being able to view all the pictures that Yenko puts in his comments? Well maybe. I joined VLR's Team for the express purpose of having some fun, by helping the DTR community out. For some this is great. Especially to all Offline racers. Glad I could help. But the question has been beckoned by Yenko in a recent topic, if anyone has read it. "How do we improve DTR2?" It's really quite simple. It's you. I do my bit, you do yours. To belong to a club is what all 300 plus of you wanted, right? I say, you have a choice and a say then... But do nothing and let it die... You know what that means, don't you....? Early to bed which means...???
So in other words, use it, or lose it, even if you do have to sleep in a double bed. Seriously.... More of us could race if we tried... Even me.... For those of us that don't have the latest games and just feel content playing the game that suits us best, which ofcourse is DTR2, then even reading a stupid Kiwei's comment about not sleeping with your wife... saving an old game like this is futile if you don't say anything back... It means you don't care, are too lazy, or you simply have a nagging wife. And when all the youngin's leave home and race rFactor then oh well.... Why bother then keeping all this going?
There will be older ones out there that won't want to lose this game.... Unless they do bring out DTR3, but you know, there are still those that race DTR Sprintcars, and you may think that because DTR2 is a much more moderner game that it will survive even longer. Maybe. Maybe not. The answer is, if you want this game and you obviously do, because you've signed up to this team, then use it. If you've never raced in a series, then sign up to Hoovers series. He's willing to take anybody in, including Rookies. The more that want it, the more series that should suit the Novice. Maybe it's the racing machines that don't suit... I don't know.
So then..... I beg the question... What do you want? What class of racing suits you? I'm sure there are some diehard racers who only want the best for this game. That is, to keep it going, and are willing to put the time and the effort in for you, if you can only say you want it, just to keep the game alive and going for many more years to come. It is fun to race Online but if you've never tried it, you've really missed something... So make your comment in here please so that everyone knows what you want.
Please state your name, class of machine and type of circuit you wish to race on. I'm curious to know.
