Hey guys, I hate to feel like a bum, but I have posted a project for a new DE2 Editor (The program that creates all the add ons for dtr2) www.getacoder.com/projects/small_editing...for_game_165441.html. Unfortunately, the bids are well out of my price range. I can throw in like $500 or so of my own money, and most of the rest will need to be covered by donations if this is going to happen. Anyway, the goal is that the person who creates this program will make a new DE2 Editor that allows us to make completely new cars and tracks from SCRATCH.

Currently we have to edit existing cars and tracks and can not add new objects to them. With this program the hope is that we can make new cars and tracks from scratch, and even import them from other games, both things that will GREATLY improve DTR2, and be like playing an entirely new game.

So...I know it will be hard to get around $1,000 in donations the next couple weeks (The program should be done within 2 months from now), but to sweeten the idea, I am going to create a new track or chassis for the TOP DONATOR for this month with the new editor, if we can get close to the amount needed to pay for this. It will be the most detailed and unique track in DTR2 history. If not, I will send all the money back on PayPal to anyone who donated. So if you have a little extra money to spare and can donate for making the game 100% better me, and all the other editors on this game would be very very grateful! I will post the top donator if we are able to meet the goal and create the new track or chassis for them with the new program.

Nobody has to donate anything, by the way. So don't feel like you have to or whatever. But it would be really really cool if we could get this done. A couple lower bids came in this morning, one for as low as $1,500 and the guy had good reviews so that's a lot better. For people who are wanting to learn tracks this program will make it a lot easier and allow you to put as many things on a track as you want without having to do much ALP editing either. AIR_69 is a bigtime editor and could explain it. Like, if it goes perfectly, we could put regular street cars on the game if we wanted with better graphics than the cars we currently have, even.

Not begging or trying to piss anyone off by asking them to pay for skins .Was just thinking that guys that cant afford alot could atleast get a little something for a $5.00 donation..Was just an idea.....If this project got done the way we want it....tracks will coming out left and right and much much better quality and in much less time....alp takes the longest in the track making process IMO and we wouldnt have to do much of that any more besides light glow ,crowd and fencing.Lets band together and see what we can do TOGETHER.

While your looking for coders, why not look for someone that could "remake" DTR2. I mean like a very similar game but with better graphics, better physics (car damage), better controller support, better online (For example just put the game on the Steam Store so then you can add friends to.), with a tool to make custom cars and tracks (like the program you are trying to get done now). I believe that there could be a great deal of money to be made for whoever makes this.And yes i know that this would take time and money to make. But if the whole VLR community comes together and donates to a person to develop said game this could be possible.


about what Shock said about better graphics from this new program.
I may be wrong here but i do not think that the car and track graphics in DTR2 can go very high as they are limited buy the game.
