I don't race as in league racing. Give me an opportunity, and I might. The recent topics suggest, no that idea. However, trying to gain back drivers is a good thing.. Not me.. But those that are worthy to race against right? There seems to be a lot of twos and trhros when it comes to drivers.. staying or going.. To get more ppl's in to racing, I beleive you need to start something.. For them... LIke me and a few others and not just old hands at offline racing who simply enjoy the idea of speedway racing, shouldn't there be grades setup for the different levels of skill? In the real world of racin' you have 'A' grade to 'C' grade clases. If there are drivers for instance that continually win races, whether it be in Automatic or keyboard steering, and they can prove they are good because they win all the time, then surely they should no longer beeligible to race with the newby's (Rookies) but instead move up to the 'A' Grade class. Just being given the opportunity to race is the key to drawing in other future drivers to keep the Gabe alive, if that's what you want but you need to keep it interesting, and ease them into the idea of it.
The win for money in the big league races is great. Who could say no to that.... I wished I was wealthy aenough and I'd throw in something, but I'm not sadly. I know I can contribute with editing and the odd 2cents worth.
This happens so often in leagues... I think the name says it all. It's what they call British Motorcycle teams in Britain, right... Perhaps a change of name might help, but it was set up this way so that other leagues could race each other especially Team VLR. Theres no doubt many out there feel this is only for the elite Top Racers ('A' Grade'). It's a nice thing to be in the top of ones game. Reminding ourselvers that yes, it's only a game... But many struggle to contemplate getting there to the track. If we are to build this game and make it enjoyable for all, then could the Grading system be introduced? I for one, am not up with the play in regards to servers, hosting etc but I could be temted to try it or to be one of those racers, having fun. It's been so long since I've been in a vent. But when one reads these recent topics, and you get to my age, then it's sad, and off putting. My Quack has told me, no strss... I wouldn't want to be accused of anything, let alone drive into the side of someone (Not deliberrately). The Kiwi's had the right idea with Stockcars. Bashem' and weep!!! I really wanted the Super Saloon class introduced.... I think I'm more of the gentle natured type. Lol....
WE can increase the number who want to play. I guarentee to you, there are heaps of members on our site that itching to try out racing (In a rookie 'C' Grade class or Buggies)I have no say as to what should be planned for an up and coming season, as I feel this is reserved for Admin or those that are regular racers... I can only suggest by submiitting here in this forum, my views to the League. Can we atleast look at this in a wider perspective for the future of the DTR2 game, or do we wait for DTR3 and get all the old racers back...? We've improved so much since the old days, and I beleive we can still keep changing things to improve it even more, albeit servers etc.
