(1/25/15) Team ICE and VLR headed to the world’s greatest dirt track, Eldora Speedway, for the World 50. Many of the top drivers showed up with some new rookies as well that showed up for a total of 19 cars.

Since ICE-VLR does not do live qualifying, we went straight to the heats, and they turned out to be some really good racing with finishes for transfer spots decided between 0.02 seconds! Heats went to DeadBolt, WFO_RainMan, and BLS_BW43. The B-Mains were just as exciting as the heats as well with VLR_Shock and JFR_97 taking narrow victories.

With everything wrapped up, it was time for the World 50. Starting on the front row tonight was DeadBolt and BW. At the drop of the green, right away it was crazy! Like crazy enough, that DeadBolt fell back from 1st to 6th in the first 3 laps! With that, BW took the lead. Early on ICE_MB went around and spun but did not give up and came back up through the field.

Throughout the race, no matter where you were at, there was always a race for positions. Once everything cooled down from the first few laps, BW and ICE_M9 pulled away from the pack with BW on top and M9 on the bottom. Behind them ICE_KG and Shock battled for 3rd. And even behind them there was a four-way battle for 6th between Rain, BLS_JMAC, MB, and J97!

BW ended winning after having not to screw up, like everyone does with women every once in a while, to hold off a hard charging M9. M9 took second after running down BW but running out of laps. Shock holds off 3rd after a great race with KG for third. KG ended up 4th. ICE_KK, finally out of the hospital, but missing the HOT nurses, finishes 5th. Rain finished 6th after a good night. JMAC ended up 7th. ICE_MB, after spinning in the first few laps, returns to battle for higher positions. J97 ended up 9th. And our polesitter, DeadBolt, ends up last after a rough World 50.

Next week, ICE-VLR is taking off the week for the Super Bowl, but return the following Sunday to Highland Speedway 2k12 for the Land of Lincoln 40!
